Autumn Restaurant Week in Valmiera

For the second time now, Valmiera is inviting people to the Restaurant Week, welcoming visitors with ancient flavours delivered in a contemporary manner. The Restaurant Week will take place from November 6 to November 12.

Since the beginning of times, people have appreciated and used the gifts of nature. The goods offered generously by local fields, forests, rivers, and meadows were put on the table already in medieval times, and seasonal products grown with love are still highly honoured in Latvia. This autumn, visitors of the Valmiera Restaurant Week have an opportunity to get acquainted with the rich gastronomic traditions and wide range of flavours of Latvian cuisine in the following restaurants: “Rātes Vārti” (www.ratesvarti.lv); “Vecpuisis”  (www.vecpuisis.lv); “Agnese” (www.hotelwolmar.lv); Restaurant of Dikļi Palace (www.diklupils.lv); Valmiermuiža Beer Kitchen (www.valmiermuiza.lv).

Special offers will be available for EUR 20 as a multicourse meal, which will be a different treat at each restaurant. In order to taste the ancient flavours in a contemporary form, we invite you to book a table in a restaurant of your choice.  See you at the gourmet festival in Valmiera!

Valmiera Restaurant Week will take place within the framework of the project “Hanseatic Approach to New Sustainable Alliances” co-funded under the Central Baltic Programme 2014-2020 and in the framework of the European Region of Gastronomy 2017 series of activities. The information support for the event is provided by portal “Valmieras Ziņas” (www.valmieraszinas.lv).

About the project “Hanseatic Approach to New Sustainable Alliances”

Eleven project partners from Latvia, Estonia, and Sweden are brought together under the Central Baltic Programme project “Hanseatic Approach to New Sustainable Alliances”. The main goals of the project are reinvigorating the legacy of the historic Hanseatic League, making Hanseatic League the leading tourism brand in the Baltic Sea Region, as well as to developing new and interesting tourism products. Facilitating the introduction of the Hanseatic Culinary brand in modern Hanseatic cities, the Valmiera Restaurant Week is one of the events that emphasises the Hanseatic culinary heritage, offering ancient flavours in a contemporary form.
