MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

You’ll find plenty of locals here, from the serving team to the regular guests, which creates a welcoming vibe and a convivial feel. The lengthy menus cover all bases, from flavour-packed soups and salads to delicious flatbreads and hearty mains inspired by northern Latvian cuisine. There’s also a lovely L-shaped terrace hidden to the rear, as well as bedrooms should you wish to stay the night.

Pāvāru māja restaurant located in the charming Līgatne village awarded a MICHELIN Green Star!

MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View

A former maternity hospital on the edge of a rural village plays host to this smart, modern restaurant. Here, you are encouraged to relax in their lovely nature observation garden – a place to sit back, listen and watch – before taking time to really savour your meal. Their raised beds and foraging trips provide the kitchen with vegetables and herbs, while the rest of their produce is locally sourced. The 4 course lunch and 6 course dinner are informed by what’s available that day.

Gastronomy & Sustainability

MICHELIN Green Star

"We collaborate with Līgatne’s farmers, as well as exploring the surrounding wilderness in search of the characteristic flavours of our region. Our menu focuses on seasonal, natural ingredients – unharmed by man or industrialisation – and we strive to follow a nose-to-tail principle in our cooking."

— Ēriks Dreibants
