Sigulda Opera Music Festival is among the top classical music events in Latvia. The programme is very diverse. You will enjoy concerts of Latvian and global opera music stars.
The festival has gathered the following Latvian opera stars: Inese Galante, Egīls Siliņš, Ingus Pētersons, Sonora Vaice, Inga Kalna, Maija Kovaļevska, Marina Rebeka, etc. And also international opera music stars like Katia Angeloni, Sissel Kyrkjebø, Janice Dixon, Michael Dean, Alfredo Daza, Marcelo Álvarez, and many more.
The high level opera music concerts are especially unique due to their venue — Sigulda Medieval Castle ruins and the scenic primeval valley of the River Gauja.
The main event besides the Gala Concert is the unique open-air opera original stage production, which is specially adjusted to the stage in Sigulda Castle ruins.
The festival has played many world-famous operas like “Faust” by Gounod, “Trubadur” by Verdi, “Marriage of Figaro” by Mozart, “Carmen” by Bizet, and many others.
