Gauja National park tourism offer will be showcased in MATKA tourism fair in Helsinki

On the begining of 2024 Gauja National park tourism destination with the brand "Enter Gauja Natioan park" will be presented on the largest travel industry event in Northern Europe - MATKA travel fair in Helsinki, Finland.

From January 18 to 21 Gauja National park tourism destination will be presented in LATVIA national stand (Nr 6h80) by tourism specialists from Sigulda, Cēsis and Valmiera municipalities and the Enter Gauja office.

Last year more than 50 000 visitors with a great passion looked for travel inspirations and more than 12 000 tourism professionals visited the exhibition and workshop day to promote business relations and find new gems for their clients. Tourism fair MATKA has been organized for more than 30 years, bringing together tourism destinations, nearly 10000 exhibitors from approximately 90 countries and 50 000 - 80 300 travelers.

Finns travelers are interested in architecture, art, culture, gastronomy and nature in their trip to Latvia and Gauja National park, according to a recent research. The largest national park in the Baltics - Gauja National park nowadays is a place where legends of the past and rich natural diversity live alongside noble castles, restaurants, historical old towns and leisure spots. Each year the number of Finnish travelers visiting Gauja National park is growing. The number of Finnish travelers in Latvia also has increased from 2022 to 2023, ranking in the TOP 4 visitors list.

Enter Gauja has just created a new brochure in Finnish language "Matkaopas Gaujan kansallispuisto TOP 10", introducing tourists with the most popular tourism objects in Gauja National park. 

Annually Gauja National park tourism destination is presented in tourism fairs, establishing cooperation with tourism professionals - tour operators and media representatives - and introducing travelers themselves with tourism offers in the national park.

This year Gauja National park also will be presented in ITB Berlin 2024 tourism fair, which will take place in B2B format, meeting tourism professionals. ITB is a catalyst for business within the travel and tourism ecosystem. Enter Gauja National park annually participates in ITB Berlin. Past years 2022 and 2021 ITB were held online due to the Covid 19 global pandemic. This year ITB Berlin will be held in person.

Municipalities in the territory of Gauja National park - Sigulda, Cēsis and Valmiera since 2012 are implementing the strategy by promoting Gauja National park as a united tourism destination.

Enter Gauja is a tourism cluster of the Gauja region created by the Gauja National Park Tourism Association, where the leading tourism service providers of the region operate in the field of entertainment, recreation, catering and accommodation.
