Ainavu Cliff

This around 0.5 km long and up to 46 m high cliff features two impressive sandstone and dolomite outcrops (at the top) – so-called Bizenes Rock (northern side) and Ainavu Rock (southern side) offering beautiful views from top of the cliff over the valley of River Amata.

The upper part of the cliff consists of Pļaviņusuite dolomites, and underneath there are Amata suite sandstones. The Ainavu (Landscape) Rock is located on the right bank, opposite of Kārļi fish breeding farm. Well visible from the Kārļu bridge during the leafless period. Among the highest outcrops in Latvia.
