Makars Tourism Agency Ltd. is a family company, which offers boat and raft rides and organizes events in Sigulda and Līgatne territories. The company has been founded by Jānis Makars who has been working in the tourism industry since 1975. At the beginning he was working in Sigulda Tourist Centre as the senior instructor organizing sports events and boat and bicycle excursions. The company offers canoe boats and rubber rafts. The tourists can enjoy various routes in the most popular water tourist river - Gauja River. The journey can be couple of hours long; however, real enthusiasts can experience a two or even three day long trip.
The company owns two camping sites, one in Sigulda and the other in Līgatne. The company also performs the functions of a rescue service in Sigulda City swimming area.
