Before the film screening, a discussion will take place featuring the film’s producer, Matīss Kaža.
Flow (Straume) is the most visited film in Latvian cinemas and screening venues, and has also received numerous awards, including an Academy Award (“Oscar”), a Golden Globe, and others for Best Feature Animation.
The story follows a Cat, a true loner, who is forced to leave his home after it is destroyed by a massive flood. He finds refuge in a small boat together with other animals. In order to survive, the Cat must learn to cooperate. Together with a Capybara, a Lemur, a Dog, and a Bird, he travels through mysterious landscapes, learning to adapt to a new, human-less world.

Admission to the cinema evening is free of charge.
The event is organized by the Valmiermuiža Cultural Society in cooperation with the Latvian Filmmakers Union and the project “Cinema for Everyone, Everywhere in Latvia.”
Financial support has been provided by the Vidzeme Planning Region within the “Vidzeme Culture Programme 2025,” implemented as part of the State Culture Capital Foundation's target programme “Development Programme for Latvia’s Historical Lands.”
