Gauja National park Travelers Days 2025

On September 13–14, Gauja National Park invites all nature and adventure enthusiasts to join the annual Travelers’ Days, held under the theme ‘Art in Nature’

The event program will include hikes, opportunities to meet art masters, an adventure inspired by Devonian period, and one of the park’s most popular attractions – the Līgatne Nature Trails will offer all visitors a 30% discount on admission tickets.

On September 13, the Travelers’ Days market will take place at the Līgatne Nature Trails parking area, where visitors can enjoy themed products and local crafts.

Additionally, the Gauja National Park Nature Center will be open to explore its exhibition and learn about the natural and geological heritage of the park.

The GARDU MUTI market in Valmiermuiža will bring together traders from all over the country, so that everyone has the opportunity to properly soak up the energy of the solstice and welcome autumn with songs, crafts, homemade delicacies, various workshops and a concert by the world music group JŌRA.

Throughout the event, there will be an opportunity to enjoy dishes created by the taste masters of "Alus vitruves" with specially matched brews, as well as purchase them to take away at the market. By registering in advance, there is an opportunity to go on a tour and see with your own eyes the process of making Valmiermuiža brews.

During the Gauja National Park Travelers' Days, the Turaida Museum Reserve invites you to explore the less known parts of the forest park and thematic trails.

In the Turaida Forest Park: an opportunity to view and participate in the newly opened exhibition "Natural Pearls in Turaida", an interactive exhibition with the opportunity to explore the park-like landscape, explore insect hotels, as well as get to know the majestic trees and play the tree xylophone. Then a hike along the Livonian Trail.

Painting at Bīriņi Castle

On September 13–14, after walks in the historic castle park, capture the beauty of the moment with brushstrokes. Scenic spots include the lake shores, Water Tower, the maturing Water Springs, the majestic Love Oak, and horses adding life to your painting.
