On June 30, Līgatne Invites You to a Day of History, Stories and Nature

At 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM, guide Edgars Vinķelis invites visitors to join the excursion “Turn the Page of Time”, where the story of the Līgatne Paper Mill comes alive through personal stories, everyday life and the mill’s importance in the development of the town. It is a chance not only to learn about Līgatne’s history, but also to truly feel its unique atmosphere. Meeting point: the Paper Mill, Pilsoņu Street 1, Līgatne. Participation fee: EUR 7.50 for adults and EUR 5.50 for schoolchildren and seniors.

At 1:00 PM, visitors are welcome to join a guided hike through the town and along the Līgatne River, including a visit to the Remdenkalns Cave. The route is approximately 6 km long and will take around three hours. The hike will be led by guide Ramona Vasiļjeva. Meeting point: Līgatne Tourism Information Centre, Spriņģu Street 2. Participation fee: EUR 10 per person. Participants are encouraged to wear suitable clothing and footwear for walking in the forest. The hike is not suitable for preschool-aged children.

From 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the historic workers’ apartment, where a warm and authentic atmosphere awaits. Guests will be able to step into the daily life of the past while enjoying vinyl record melodies, tea and homemade cookies.
