Sigulda invites you to celebrate – Sigulda Festival.
This year, the grand opening of the summer season – Sigulda Festival – will take place on May 23. On this day, Sigulda will welcome the most enthusiastic amateur art groups, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts from the Sigulda region, inviting locals and visitors to various activities for all age groups – concerts, sporting events, a festive restaurant, as well as a traditional festive parade and open-air concert and dance ball.
A wide range of activities for families, children, young people, and active lifestyle enthusiasts will take place across the city during the day:
From 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the Festive Market will take place at Sigulda Market. Visitors are invited to enjoy breakfast with chef Elmārs Tannis, while a DJ provides the musical atmosphere.
At 10:00 AM, the city will wake up with the festive morning greeting “Good Morning, Sigulda!”.
From 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, newborns of the municipality will be honoured at the Sigulda Castle Pavilion.
At 10:00 AM, an ecumenical church service will be held at Sigulda Evangelical Lutheran Church.
At 11:00 AM, visitors at Sigulda Market can join a traditional folk singalong with the folklore group “Senleja”.
From 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Station Square will host an exhibition of safety and rescue services.
From 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Maija Park will offer children’s activities including an orienteering detective game, performances, giant wooden games, a kite workshop, simultaneous chess games, and much more.
From 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the youth initiative centre “Mērķis” will host creative workshops and activities for young people, including flower-themed crafts, keychain workshops, face and hand painting, moving toy making, and pollinator hotel workshops.
From 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, visitors are welcome at the “Created in Sigulda” design and artisan market near the Siguldas Devons Culture Centre.
From 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the motorcycle club “RC Frendi” at Šveices Street 25 will feature a motorcycle exhibition, DJ Fat Brox, activities for children and parents, and motorcycle rides for kids.
From 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle parade and exhibition “Hog Party” will take place near the Krišjānis Barons monument parking area.
From 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the Sigulda Castle Quarter will host “Ghetto Games” tournaments and sports activities, while from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM visitors can watch the public bench press competition “Lift Sigulda 2026”.
From 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, amateur art and hobby education groups from the Sigulda region will perform in concert near the Siguldas Devons Culture Centre.
From 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, an open-air art plein-air and concert dedicated to sculptor Teodors Zaļkalns’ 150th anniversary will take place near the “Baltais Flīģelis” Art School, featuring teachers and students of the school.
From 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, Vidzeme prose readings will take place in Maija Park.
From 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, robot battles will be held near the youth initiative centre “Mērķis”.
At 7:00 PM, everyone is invited to join the festive parade “Stream of Light. Valg Ūrg”, starting at Sigulda Railway Station Square and continuing to Festival Square.
From 8:00 PM until 4:00 AM, Festival Square will host the grand evening concert and open-air dance party featuring performances by Emilija, “Kautkaili”, “bet bet”, and “Citi Zēni”, with DJ Bercis providing the party atmosphere throughout the night.
During the festival, the new KIWIE graffiti wall will also be unveiled near the Sigulda Bobsleigh and Luge Track.
