On 9 March 2026, participants from Cēsis and Sigulda Municipalities joined an educational and active outdoor hike through the nature trails of Sigulda together with the Gauja Naational park Youth Rangers initiative within the INACS project. The event brought together young participants to explore the natural values of the Gauja National Park, encourage outdoor activities during spring conditions, and strengthen awareness about nature and environmental responsibility.
At the start of the event youth visited Gauja National park Nature centre, learned about the values of Gauja National park, were divided in teams for tasks. The tasks during the hike motivated to pay attention to natural elements and creatively come up with new names for plants.
Throughout the day, the group explored Sigulda’s scenic nature trails, enjoyed time outdoors in snowy winter conditions, and shared experiences with fellow participants and Gauja National park Youth Rangers. The activity encouraged young people to spend time in nature, develop teamwork skills, and gain a deeper appreciation of protected natural areas during the winter season.
The INACS project aims to make natural and cultural sites more accessible and attractive to both local residents and visitors, while promoting sustainable tourism and community well-being in the Central Baltic region.
