01.04.2024
The Central Baltic Interreg project "Enhanced ERA" is launched in April 2024. The aim of the project is to promote entrepreneurship in rural regions of the Central Baltic States in the time period from 2024 till 2027.
"Enhanced ERA" stands for Enhanced Employment Opportunities in Rural Areas. In the project, a 2x1-year training, networking, experience-gaining course will be organized in the regions of the project partners for people interested in entrepreneurship and highly motivated people under the age of 25 and over 50. Together, the partners will create a cross-border training online course on entrepreneurial capabilities and skills. Creation of the business plan envisaged at the end of the course and hopefully also its implementation.

The project aims to increase skills, knowledge for the target groups due to the analyzed challenges that  people face in these regions. People 50+ and youth living in remote rural areas and archipelago across the Central Baltic face often challenges such as low levels of key skills, knowledge and understanding of business enterprise, which while working in fragile business environments means that many operators are at risk of unemployment.

Project partners: Gaujas Nacionālā parka tūrisma biedrība (LV), Soomaa Tourism Association (EST), Enterprising Archipelago (AX), University of Helsinki Ruralia Institute (FIN), Municipality of Söderhamn (SE), Development Association Sepra (FIN), NGO Ökokuller (EST) leading partner - Estonian University of Life Sciences.

The project is financed by the European Union, the co-financing of the project from ERDF is EUR 819 905.72. The total project budget is EUR 1 024 88216.
