Springs at Dāvids mills

Group of powerful springs, which flow out on the left slope of river Vaive, next to the former Dāvids' mills.

More than 30 springs (the number varies) have been registered, which have formed two small freshwater limestone (travertine) deposits. The largest of deposits is located 300 m upstream from the former mill. Iron compounds deposit from the spring water, and this is why the travertine and nearest vicinity is coloured in reddish. Some of the springs merge together forming a scenic “waterfall” up to 7 m high.
