The exploratory trip begins in Dikļu Castle, from where the path leads along Zundas barn – a small building made of boulders, where back in 1818 the first theater performance in Latvia was shown.
The route winds along a Lutheran church, where a few centuries ago parishioners could meet the famous pastor Juris Neikens, the author of the idea of a significant cultural heritage of the Latvian nation – the Song Festival.
Following the path, you can see the beautiful rock Neikenkalns and the stage, where the first Song Festival was held in 1864. The ancient shades vibrate in the air, and it seems that you can hear a quiet singing of vibrant voices.
Before returning to the castle, the path leads along one of the longest oak alleys in Latvia. The mighty alley is about 400 years old and stretches over one kilometre in length.
