Adventurous Līgatne: the Heart of Gauja National Park

In Līgatne you will have the chance to see ravines covered with woods, sandstone outcrops and rock caves, as well as walk nature trails and explore dwellings of wild animals. Visiting Līgatne is perfect for families with kids as there is so much to do and see.

What to see in Līgatne - 

Vienkoči Park  -  tour around the park, woodcraft museum and the first sand-house in Latvia. 

Līgatne nature trails natural ZOO. These trails were established in 1975 in order to acquaint visitors with nature, wild mammal species living in Latvia, nature diversity and environmental protection. Walking trails are 4-5 km in length, with varying degrees of difficulty (there are both soil and gravel coverings and wooden stairs). It takes 2-3 hours on average to visit the trails. 

►Secret Soviet bunker visit. Open tours on weekends at 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00 (summer time).

► Līgatne paper mill workers flat - an industrial heritage. Līgatne is the workers' village of the oldest paper-mill in Latvia, and its historical appearance has remained unchanged.
