Museum Veveri

The museum was created in the 70th of the 20th century. 7 farmhouses and craftsmen’s houses - representative examples of vernacular architecture - can be observed in the old village of Vēveri against the background of a typical Vecpiebalga landscape.

The exposition demonstrates Piebalga weavers’ tools, homemade blankets, samples of linen fabrics.

Visitors may add their threads to the canvas pulled on the loom. There are coaches, harnesses, ploughs and harrows that once belonged to Piebalga dwellers in the coach house. Contours of restored windmills naturally supplement the simple and lovely Latvian landscape. Stroll along green yards of the old village gives an opportunity to feel the peace and freedom of ancestors’ leisure close to rhythms and life of nature.
